Being Moved By the Breeze

A manger for a fast-food chain sees a man with a cardboard sign inscribed "anny bit wil help". The manager sees this, pulls his brake, and spits at the man, "Get you a job you filthy piece of shit!" The man in a quandary of the managers words become lost somewhere between "you" and "job". The two words coexisting within the same context or rather even the same sentence structure is somehow garbled, mutilated in translation.

Much time will pass. He will look down at his dirty, disgusting, hideous way of life he so barely clings to, and have idea that will come haunting so to mind. He takes his coat wraps it nice and tight, finds the closest tree and makes a poorly made noose. Looks at his sign and flips it over with a tear, and writes frivolously upon it. Then climbs oh so high to the tree top. And is soon left suspended from now to eternity. The manager passes by when he notices a peculiar thing. A man twenty or so feet above him dangling, dead with the cardboard sign from yesterday that now reads "heres hopeing to macke yur day sum bit briter". My question is if you were the manager would you have given the man even some kind of miniscule job to make his day and save his life or would you have cursed the same way and driven off to attend your mundane world? When it comes to it what will you do?

Alcatraz Jr.

Well, being an inmate at the local prison will be best years of my life. What prison you ask? Ah good question glad you're so inquisitive my friend. It's called high school A.K.A. jail. A wonderful educational facility whose bars are specially designed with your tax dollars Mom and Dad! Thanks! I love when I go to the nurse's office and am immediately accused that I'm getting an Advil only to crush it up to deal it to my coke-head friends. What could top that you ask? Oh I would have to say me being the one to get decked in the face and getting the in school suspension not them. Gotta beat the shit outta someone to keep from crying right? I love being a 12th grade intellectual in speech and comprehension and be at a 8th grade math level. Let's hear it for amazing curriculum! I love roaming the different cells with shackles that your taxes directly fund for. You don't like that terminology? Cells? It's a much more polite term that how would normally address it, that's a promise. It's not anything like jail you say? Maybe you should take that four foot rod up out of your asshole, get hit as hard as physically possible by reality, and WAKE THE FUCK UP! If anyone needs me I'll be the one with 1200 other students wearing the chains and handcuffs. No were not sex slaves just students silly parents. Oh and if you see your local school board member could you relay the message for him to take that rod out his ass too? That'd be peachy.

Living for the Moment and Not for a Second More.

I walked on a pier in Burlington today with a friend of mine. She asked if my life and the people I had been with had been worth it. I said yes. Then she asked me if I could take someone back again would I? I stopped and thought. Instead of answering it, I asked her if she would. She told me people are with us for a short time, not giving someone another opportunity is like missing out on an experience and an adventure. Then she said a chance to climb a mountain is more satisfying than climbing a hilltop. When you get the chance will you look down from the top of the world or will you look up to it?

Long Time No Post

Well it's certainly been a while since I've posted much of anything lately. I've taken up bass lessons. The instructor is both extremely knowledgeable in what he teaches and humble too. I'm excited to see what these lessons will yield. Also I had a birthday yesterday. It was nice. I invited my mom to join us for pizza and cake. I was very relieved to find that there really wasn't very much tension in spite of past family disputes. We all sat at the dinner table swapping stories. It felt good to have the Spencer and Thomson house holds having a meal together. Nostalgia has never been one of my boldest traits but it will live on and serve as a good memory for me. Relationships no one thought feasible to repair seemed irrelevant. We all seemed to be focused on the future and how to improve it instead of focusing on the past and digging at old wounds that neither side has quite healed from. So it was a very 'Happy Birthday' for me after all.

Sitting and Staring

Can one individual really measure upon how fair their lives have been? Can one stare up into nothingness and wonder to himself did I make a difference? Is it the right of someone else to judge me or is it my right to differentiate my doings from right and wrong? Is it integrity when you tell someone how much you love them and care for them or do actions speak louder than words? And if actions really do speak louder than words what must I do?

My Emo Moment

I really contemplated a lot about myself today. I thought about where I'm going and when I get there will I be happy? I thought about my mother making ends meet and how truly dedicated and devoted she was to making sure she would succeed in life. The one person that I'd never seen eye to eye with is also the person I relate to the most. I thought about relationships that I've burned. I thought about friends that I've seemed to stop investing time into simply talking with. All the time I wondered why I had. And each time I thought about it, I couldn't come up with an answer. Reminiscing about how many friends that had strayed away from me or I had from them. I couldn't fill the gap and hollow feeling I had. I felt overcome with guilt and hatred for what I had done. Is this how I should proceed in life, by taking steps in the wrong direction?

Life

Is life meant to be contained? Was it intended to be controlled? Am I supposed to be filled with mediocrity? Should I continue with my path of becoming entrepreneur? Or do I apply myself in such a way as to completely alter my self image and persona to meet the standard? Do I trust teachers to educate me with knowledge that will suit me in an ever advancing corporate world? Should one supplement him or herself with other criteria? IS there more than one way of becoming successful? Can someone go without diagnosing someone with ADD or ADHD for a deficit of understanding spotty curriculum? Is that student who's now given an ailment going to restrict them from success themselves over one opinionated stand point? If so, will it be too late to make a stance?

Quotes of Gods

The time I burned my guitar it was like a sacrifice. You sacrifice the things you love. I love my guitar.
-Jimi Hendrix

My voice is my improvisational instrument, the melody instrument. The guitar is harmonic structure. I'm not a good enough guitarist to improvise on it.
-Paul Simon

I approach playing acoustic guitar more of as a percussive instrument. It's fragile. I don't have a lot of finesse when it comes to my guitar playing.
-Billie Joe Armstrong

The Band

Hopefully we'll be able to jam out together soon. None of us really have any clue about what we're singing (and that's a bit of an issue when you're in a band). Another problem is our band name. We can't seem to come up with a suitable name that we all agree upon.
Our lead guitar and myself are in favor of "The Broken Alpacas/Llamas/Camels". I have a sinking feeling that we won't elect that for our name but you never know it could always happen. On a positive note, I was able to pretty much get the intro to "Animal I Have Become". And I bet if you give me another 10 years I'll be able to nail some of the chorus too! So everyone keep your fingers crossed.
